In other non-african news...

my blog is mainly african(nigerian) inspired but of course we have to keep up with the world.

Carine's replacement.
well this is not news but if you are anywhere in the fashion world, you'll know the new editor of vogue paris. first time i heard the name emmanuel alt. what you expect in an editor french for that matter is not what you'll find in emmauelle alt. she is bad-ass (pardon my language). she's not all hats and pencil skirts. this just goes to say its best to be you and one day you'll be appreciated as you are. her style is not particularly my kind of style but i love it and i love her already

Rebelle fleur
name of the perfume which she tatted on her neck in the pic above 'rebelle fleur' rebel flower in english. she shortened it to reb'l fleur

SoBe swimsuit campaign

jessica szhor of gossip girl (most annoying character asides jenny) is the new celeb face of sobe swimsuit.

T-shirt Frenzy

For a while now, I've been 'into' t-shirts. specially the ones that tell a story or with history on it. its always cool to wear a rock n roll tshirt (even when you don't know the band or lyrics to any of their songs) FAIL! its even cooler to rock African inspired tees especially when you connect with what is written or the image on your shirt. yes! I'm deep with t-shirts now. i would totally rock the ones below;

it says "better to die fighting for freedom than to be a prisoner all the days of your life" doesn't it make you want to raise your fist and say "power to the people" lol. i kid or not but you get me right??

hahaa! Mr mickey ain't so happy. this isn't African inspired but i like it because it shows the other side of happy go lucky mickey mouse. we are human

fela kuti fullstop. need i say more, i really hope to see fela on broadway this year.

put her words on a tee and it instantly glams it up. coco chanel is a glamorous genius. i would dress up this tee with a skirt.

 it says ''it always seems impossible until its done". mandela inspires me to know bounds. how a prisoner became a president of a country is a story i always want to read. that reminds me, i have to finish watching invictus, the movie is so good you can excuse the bad accent.

Lazy Sunday

Happy new year to all my stylish readers. I have a few resolutions for my blog but i'll keep them to myself and hopefully you'll see the changes as the months go by. school will be resuming tomorrow so you'll see a little less of me but will try my best to keep updating you.
caught the vlisco bag in the editors pick in the latest edition of Fab magazine. and i honestly can say i never knew they were into production of handbags for sale. i had seen them in their ads but didnt know there were collections of bags.. of course i checked out their website and lo n behold not only bags but keyrings, bracelets and other accessories.
here are 2 of my faves;

messenger bags are still hot. this stands out with the african print detail. i would carry this class, the beach, shoots and so on. its very hand and would work with most outfits.

this mulberry meets hermes tote is lovely in this champagne colour. its no wonder it was sold out on the website. what i love the most about the bag is the african print lining

you can check out their web for more http://www.vlisco.com/
